Introduction Course Six Sigma by Cristina Jackson 4 oktober @TFG House (18.00 – 21.30)

The Future Group provides a unique training to get acquainted with Six Sigma. Six sigma as a methodology was born at Motorola in the mid-1980s. It was made “famous” by GE, since it saved the company 100s of millions of dollars per year. Nowadays it is rapidly growing among the Top 500 clients in the Netherlands and also within our own client base. Cristina Jackson is a colleague who has a Black Belt in Six Sigma and several years of hands-on experience how to use this knowledge in relevant business situations. Besides the Introduction course she also gives Green Belt training.

On 4th of October we want to facilitate an introduction course especially for our TFG Colleagues at a reduced price of Euro 200,-.

The training will be given in a special format, namely by using the epic story of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo is madly in love with Juliet and decides that he must invite Juliet to a Romantic dinner.

The Six sigma methodology is the best Romeo can use to improve this process. Furthermore, since Romeo has already used the “romantic dinner” process before when he invited Rosaline, he believes the best methodology will be the DMAIC methodology.

In this evening, we are going to go back in time and help Romeo be successful in his first Romantic dinner with Juliet.

Within Six sigma there are two potential scenarios - First, there is already an existing process(s) that is working "reasonably" well; and second there is no process at all. In this introductory training, we will look at the first scenario, the DMAIC process. A process exists and needs to be improved.

DMAIC stands for:

  1.  Define process goals in terms of key critical parameters (i.e. critical to quality or critical to production) on the basis of customer requirements or Voice Of Customer (VOC)
  2. Measure the current process performance in context of goals
  3. Analyze the current scenario in terms of causes of variations and defects
  4. Improve the process by systematically reducing variation and eliminating defects
  5. Control future performance of the process

In most six sigma projects a set of “soft” tools are used: Chartering, Process Mapping, Cause and Effect Matrix and FMEA (Failure mode and effect analysis) and control plan. In this training, an introduction to these tools will be offered together with an overview of other tools that are used within the methodology.

We are convinced that you learn a thing or two ! Not only what you can realize by using Six Sigma properly, but also about romantic dinners J.
